Collection: 3695 Sap. David Craig ANDERSON of the 2nd Signal Company. During World War One wooden crosses were used on the battlefields to help locate and identify the dead soldiers. These were later grouped and relocated to specific Military Cemeteries.

Place Made : Steenwerck, France
Collection: 12842 Pvt. William Henry RODDA of the Australian 11th Field Ambulance. Died of Wounds on the 4/6/17 and buried at TROIS ARBRES Commonwealth Cemetery, France. This was part of the 2nd Casualty Clearing Station located next to railway lines that ran between Armentieres and Saint Omer. Many wounded soldiers were brought out of the Front Line and stabilise here before sending them to General Hospitals further inland. Location 2km N/E of Steenwerck, D77. [ Trois Arbres]
